The adventure begins in Kenya’s vibrant capital Nairobi where guests will spend a night at the magnificent Sarova Stanley. Located in the heart of the city, the hotel features 217 ensuite rooms and has played host to prominent world leaders, renowned authors, and international celebrities since opening its doors in 1902.
Next stop is the stunning scenery and wildlife of Lake Nakuru National Park within the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy a 2 night stay at Mbweha Camp, which offers 10 stone-and-thatch guest cottages fitted with a canopied bed and private verandah nestled beneath shade trees. Whilst Lake Nakuru is renowned for its profusion of pink flamingo, the national park around Lake Nakuru is a sanctuary for both black and white rhino as well as zebra, buffalo, leopard and Rothschild’s giraffe. Enjoy gameviewing activities, as well as a fantastic camel trek experiences through Soysambu Conservancy filled with a multitude of plains game.
On day 4 transfer by plane to the Masai Mara, undisputedly one of Africa’s best game parks with excellent gameviewing year round, with prolific plains game and attendant predators such as lion, cheetah, hyena and jackal. Winners will spend 3 nights at stunning Governors’ Camp. Tucked in a shady grove along the winding Mara River, Governors’ Camp features 37 large, bright riverside guest tents enjoying interrupted views of the waterway or of the Masai Mara’s famous golden plains. Enjoy game drives with an experienced guide in search of Africa’s iconic wildlife including the famous ‘Big-5’. There may also be the opportunity to feel the pulse of Africa through the soles of your feet on a guided walk, whilst optional activities include a hot air balloon safari over the Mara plains (additional cost) or a visit to a traditional Maasai Manyatta to interact with the nomadic Maasai and learn about their customs and traditions.
