Small, exclusive Kitela Lodge overlooks the eastern wall of the Ngorongoro Crater, lush coffee plantations and a cascading waterfall. Guests at this colonial-style lodge are accommodated in 20 romantic suites with features such as canopied beds and claw-footed tubs. For families, there are interconnecting and triple rooms.
In the thatched main lodge is a large restaurant, with meals sometimes served around the large heated outdoor pool. Here, you’ll also find a wellness centre and plenty of cosy spaces to relax and enjoy your peaceful, scenic surroundings in between safaris into the crater and the Serengeti National Park.
Things to do at this Karatu property include game drives and trekking in the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area, cultural interactions with the Maasai and tours of the working farm that Kitela Lodge is sited upon. After a big day outdoors, treat yourself to a massage at the day spa.
