Johannesburg

Cosmopolitan Johannesburg has undergone a remarkable renaissance in the past few decades, and visitors today will find here the country’s largest selection of restaurants, shops and hotels.

The city has not shied away from its notorious past. In fact, some of its must-see attractions include the inspiring Apartheid Museum and the sprawling township of Soweto, most famous for its pivotal role in the country’s political history.

Whilst Johannesburg has come a long way, the wealth divide remains with the city’s most affluent residing in the leafy northern suburbs such as Sandton and Rosebank. This is where you’ll find the majority of luxury hotels and glitzy shopping centres.

If you’re just planning to overnight in Johannesburg, OR Tambo International Airport is well set up for stopovers, with an array of quality accommodation options ranging from five-star international chain properties to an expansive entertainment and casino complex with guestrooms, restaurants and recreational facilities all in one place.
