Hike through Alpine meadows, take an overnight canoe trip, camp beneath snow-capped peaks and soak in hot springs. When to Go Summer (mid Jun) leading into early autumn (mid Sep) is the most ideal time for adventure camping when the weather is at its finest. This is also the best period for paddling with orcas as it is when salmon runs occur and groups of up to 100 or more whales gather to feed. Dogsledding in the Yukon takes place from mid Nov - Apr when there is adequete snow cover.
